When posting a layout, how do I insert a link?

I posted a layout yesterday that was inspired by/lifted from another layout in the gallery and I noted that in the description, but how can I link to that layout in the description box.

I would also love to link visitors right to the designers kit I used, but can't figure out the right way to write the html code so the link is provided.

it's like this:

{url=paste link here}kit name or layout name{/url}

but instead of curly brackets {}
use these ones: [ ]
