So....when you scrap...

Do you listen to music? If so, what kind? A specific genre or fave singer/group? Watch TV? Or do you need your silence?

I usually scrap with either music or tv on. Most likely music. Anything from classy to more rock-ish kinda music. Oh, I forgot to add that I often listen to the twilight and new moon score, since I'm a twilight fan this brings up a ton of emotions in me and I enjoy to get those out, either while I design or just scrap :)

mostly I scrap either late at night when everyone is in bed or during the morning when the kids are at school. So I often just enjoy the silence.
I am not a big TV watcher, but if I do turn it on, it totally distracts me from what I am trying to do.
Sometimes I turn on Sirius Hits 1 and listen to that.
Or maybe turn my iTunes to shuffle.
Good grief, I couldn't even begin to name a favorite artist to you. My taste in music is so diverse. I love Metallica and Godsmack. I love some of the newer bands like FlyLeaf, Three Days Grace and Shinedown.
But I also love Andrea Bocelli, Josh Groban and Enigma.
And then it shuffles more and I have TI and the Black Eyed Peas.
Pretty much, I love all music.....just not a big fan of country and hard core gansta rap.

Wow! I'm so like you two, too! lol. Seriously my tastes in music are so eclectic--I like mostly pop/rock but my iTunes playlists are SO diverse. As in--I have Jpop, Kpop, Yanni, Andrea Bocelli, Madonna, The Bangles, The Corrs, Rihanna, Black Eyed Peas, Pussycat Dolls, Lady Gaga... well you get it :25r30wi:

If I'm really getting into the scrapping I'll start singing (yeeeeeeah, even in Japanese or Korean). But there have also been times when I'm so in the zone that I completely ignore my music and only realize belatedly that I've gotten to the end of my playlist when it's suddenly silent :blunke:

My scrapping time is usually in the evenings, when my girls go to bed. My DH watches TV while I scrap, but the TV is just background noise. From time to time, I do listen to music. I'm a country fan, but also like pop, hip/hop and rock. Not really into heavy metal or hard rap.

And on the weekends, I'm usually scrapping while my girls watch cartoons...so I'm listening to Dora and all the other cartoons on NickJr. I've watched more Max & Ruby then any one person should be allowed to watch :)

I usually sit down and grab a couple of scrap minutes here and there while I can so usually nothing, but if its late at night i usually have the t.v. on beside me :)

I'm just like Katrina, I get a few minutes here and there during the day and then at night I bring the laptop out on the couch and have the tv on in the background. I love to watch old Law and Order reruns.

I usually get my scrapping done with the twins are napping in the afternoon, or everyone is asleep at night. I like to have something on - I don't like silence. If I don't have any shows on my DVR to watch I will turn it to the Food Network, but if it is someone that drives me nuts (like Giada!!) then I will turn on my music.

I don't listen to anything in particular. I have Lady Gaga, Bon Iver, Tupac, 50 Cent, Wu Tang, Def Leppard, New Moon and Twilight Soundtracks, Third Eye Blind, Snoop, usually running in a loop.

Anyway...back to the question...I usually scrap at night when the kids are in bed so I usually have reruns of Frasier or Scrubs on...something like that. Something that I don't really have to watch.

I like to scrap at night too when the kiddos are sleeping & my hubby
is on the xbox. A nice glass of wine get's me in the grove teehee.
BTW I like Lady Gaga too. I think my fave songs are Bad Romance,
Poker Face, oh & Telephone is good.

I scrap off and on throughout the day. Sometimes I'll listen to the playlist on my blog. More often than not, though, childrens programming is on in the background. At night, like right now, everyone is asleep and I like it quiet.

I have a confession I cannot sit in silence, seriously I have my ipod or TV on until the minute I'm about to fall asleep then I turn it off. When Ava is home from nursery everything is off but she makes enough noise to fill the quiet. I scrap when Ava is at preschool or when she's in bed so I usually have the TV on or Bright Eyes/Death Cab/Lisa Mitchell/Bon Iver/Sparklehorse/The Beatles on my ipod :D

Silence for me is so nice, though. With such a busy household, quiet time is so rare! Silence is so relaxing to me!!

I usually scrap with a bunch of noisy kids hanging off my neck, chair, pulling at my hair, my legs, been bit.... LOL and usually the little gal is breastfeeding while I scrap (she's going to be 1 next week, and I trying to get her on the bottle, but she's having none of that so far) doing laundry, baking cookies, sweeping, cooking, straightening rooms.... you name it, it all goes on while I am scrapping. Even while writing this post, so far I had to get up 3 times, I am the most distracted person I know. No wonder my LO's are all such a disaster, My dream come true would be to have 2 hrs scrapping, listening to some awesome music and creating some kind of masterpiece... sigh... I even had one of my older kids finishing off a scrap that I had up... LOL, I flattened it and then took a closer look, and had to laugh.... He did a pretty good job on cs3... musta been stalking me and watching me behind my chair alot! *sigh* now I'm depressing myself.... *giggles*

I was so distracted one time, I posted in a gallery a layout that was supposed to say something like, "I want my pantry shelves to be full this year." and accidentally it said "... my panty shelves..." I'm with you guys on the silence part. A bit creepy really. I like to have music but since I scrap while everyone else has a tv on I usually get shushed. Whenever I actually get the chance I listen to Pandora (http://www.pandora.com/). You put the name of an artist in and it creates a station just for you with that style of music. Really cool. :D
