Just curious. What are some of your favorite books and authors? What are you reading right now?
I LOVE LOVE LOVE to read and threads like these always inspire me to try new authors.
One of my very favorite series in the Stephanie Plum books by Janet Evanovich. I love those books, they make me :loudlaff:
I love Jennifer Crusie, especially Welcome to Temptation and Faking It.
I love Rachel Gibson and Christie Ridgway when I am in the mood for a romance novel.
I love Susan Donavan. Her books are sort of romantic suspence novels.
And Kasey Michaels. I loved the Maggie Kelley Series. And I just finished up the Sunshine Girls series.
I also like Robert Crais. and omg, he should be added to the hottie thread. Have you ever seen him? BABE!! His Elvis Cole series is really good.
I just went to the used bookstore today and now have a new stack of books to read. I got a bunch of books by authors I have never read before, so we will see how that goes.
What about you?

I don't really have any favorite authors, but some books I have enjoyed;
The secret life of bees
The shopaholic series
Twilight and New Moon (I'm weird and are holding off to read the other 2 books till after I've seen them at the movies)
Oh, and I read a saga written by a norwegian author called Margit Sandemo, while I was a teenager and those are amongst my all time fave reads!
Right now I have the host waiting for me, but I just can't find the time to enjoy it. I tried reading the first book in the Stephanie Plum series, but they didn't catch me at all. I also had high hopes for My sisters keeper, but unfortunately although I liked it, it wasn't as good as I expected it to be.

I haven't read the Shopaholic series but I have read a few of her other books. I really liked Undomestic Goddess, but Remember me wasn't so great. It was written in the 1st person and I hate that.

Hmm, I know I've read 2 of her other books and one of them were Undomestic Goddess, which I remember I liked. Not sure what the other one was, but that's because I didn't like it as much as the others. It could be the same one. I just went looking on Amazon and the one I'm talking about is called Can you keep a secret. I haven't read remember me.

The Shophaholic series was cute. Remember Me was interesting.
Right now I'm reading "Indivisible By Two" which is a book about identical twins, full of information and real stories. ;) Trying to be the best mommy to ours that I can be.
The Stephanie Plus series is good, although by book 15 or 16 (whichever we are at now) it is the same old thing.
If you like vampire books and can handle some "mature" scenes, the Black Dagger Brotherhood series is good. :D
I recently read Gate at the Top of the Stairs by Lorrie Moore and that was really interesting.

I'm a huge David Baldacci fan! I also loved the Twilight series! And I am currently reading the Percy Jackson series, as it comes highly recommended by my kids. I finished The Lightening Thief, now I'm waiting for my daughter to bring the 2nd book home from her school library - my kids are such enablers!! :)

The 'best ' time I had while reading books was the whole twilight series. My oldest daughter is 19 and we read them together. That was the best being able to talk about it while we were talking...... or in the fourth book me gasping and my daughter yelling "don't tell me don't tell me!" :loudlaff:
I've read the whole vampire series by PC Cast and Kristin Cast, Marked is the first book in that series. they are really good.
Last week I read A Reliable Wife by Robert Goolrick that was..... interesting.
This week I started What she Wants by Cathy Kelly I have never read her before so I hope she is a good auther as she has a number of others I could read too.
I'll be off to check out some of the other books mentioned here.

Oh man do you ever want me to shut up because with books I could talk for HOURS ha ha.
At the moment I am reading The Angels Game by Carlos Ruiz Zafon, who also wrote Shadow of the Wind (one of my favourite books) I love his work it's set in Barcelona one of my favourite places and has a film noir kind of feel. Not my usual taste but really really fantastic.
Some books I read recently all had a military theme for some reason: The Men Who Stare at Goats, Generation Kill and One Bullet Away. All were absolutely outstanding and gave me a much wider understanding of the Iraq war and a new kind of admiration for Marines (other than just liking to look at them LOL).
My favourite authors are JK Rowling, Douglas Adams, Douglas Coupland, JR Tolkien and soooo many more. Some of my favourite books The Picture of Dorian Gray, Girlfriend in a Coma, The Beach, Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy, The LOTR, Harry Potter (all of 'em) and many more :D xxx

I love to read and have thousands of books, that I havenīt read yet in my rack. I loved Lord of the rings. Iīm a fan of fantasy themed books and thriller. Currently I am reading Legend of the Seeker 1 from Terry Goodkind. got this one as a present from by parents and itīs really nice. but there are so many parts and Iīm not really sure, if it is good enough to buy them all. I have to think about this, but I have to be fast, because there are only 80 pages left before the book is ended LOL
