During our homeschool we've been going through and art book that has famous paintings in it. Every time she sees one she wants to paint it. Well yesterday she decided to make a replica of the famous "Madonna feeding the child" by Gerard David. The original is an oil painting, hers is a mixed medium of water colors and crayons :) Oh and she did that completely by memory, she wasn't looking at the original when she was painting hers. Now what looks like another baby that the baby is holding is actually the spoon, she always makes spoons very big for some reason.

WOW!! I love it!! That is a fantastic idea....trying to re-create a famous painting! Children have interesting views and interpretations, what fun that you captured hers. Priceless memories! My 7 year old son loves to draw (and is very good) I should try to 'inspire' him with some famous paintings and sketches. He is on a Super Mario Bros. kick right now....I'd like to see something new for a change :)

I am definitely planning on scrapping it, I just need to find the right kit for it. Let me know if any of you have any suggestions.
Jacqui, we are doing the preschool curriculum for Sonlight. It's a pretty good program.
