How much fun are we still having with the the MScraps Birthday party a blast! You still have until the 13th February to play along with the Party Games and Challenges, don't forget!!!

Well, this month is my birthday month, and just to continue with birthday fun I'm giving you all a present with this challenge... an easy peasy way to get one more point to your challenge tally!!! Take advantage of it, I like to be a hard taskmaster sometimes, but not this month!!!!!

It's easy
1. go in the gallery, and scraplift a scrapper you admire! It can be someone that has been featured before, it can be a designer, it can be your best scrapping buddy... I want you to have FUN this month doing this...
You can pick whatever page you want in the 10000s of pages in the gallery, BUT....
2. you must tell us why you chose that page to scraplift: is it because you like the scrapper's style, is it because you just love the page? You like the colour? The photo inspired you?
You can journal why you picked that page, on your scraplift, but also please tell us here in the thread.

I picked this page by Helen because I just felt drawn to it when I saw it, then I realised the clever design was from a template by Sabrina's Creations Clean and Simple n°9-12 (http://www.mscraps.com/shop/product.php?productid=4265) but the way she ever so slightly modified it and the beautiful kit she used: Be Free by Deca Designs (http://www.mscraps.com/shop/product.php?productid=4002), made it a page I wanted to copy. It was not the page I had set out to find when I started looking in the gallery for a page to scraplift, not the style or anything, but when I saw it, I knew it was THE ONE.
http://www.mscraps.com/galleri/data/636/thumbs/live-your-life1.jpg (http://www.mscraps.com/galleri/showphoto.php?photo=41957&title=live-your-life&cat=636)

So this is my lift:
http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w178/acanuckinoz/Digiscrapping/CT%20layouts/FEB12Scraplift117heatherbyfrance600.jpg
using A Year of Hope: Pack 1 (http://www.mscraps.com/shop/product.php?productid=4649) and A Year Of Hope: Kit (http://www.mscraps.com/shop/product.php?productid=4622) by Heather T. and I wouldn't feel right if I didn't give Sabrina's template their credit too: Clean and Simple n°9-12 by Sabrina's Creations (http://www.mscraps.com/shop/product.php?productid=4265).

And this is what the CT made:

First off: Sonia/Gateausoso
"This is a scraplift of a layout from the very talented Marion. Her layouts composition always amazes me. I have chosen I love your face though it was extremely difficult to decide which one to scraplift. I love the simplicity of the white space and the vertical layout of the frames. The elements are all perfectly placed and the choice of colors, that I more or less kept, is also amazing."
Marion's page:

Sonia's lift:
http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u232/gateausoso/ScrapliftMarionweb.jpg

and she added a 2nd page to make it a Double page:

I picked this page by iciclelady. I'm all into the project life style of scrapping lately can't get enough of the journaling cards. This layout just popped out in the gallery while I was searching. Just love the composition of the photos with the thin lines separating the photos. Also love her black and white photo. Planned on doing a January review page for each of my kids.

I chose to lift this beauty from veer (http://www.mscraps.com/galleri/member.php?uid=201&protype=1). I loved the giant picture and simplicity of the page, and I also thought it would be a fun challenge to take a similar layout and turn it into a 'boy' page. How fun!

Oops I forgot to tell why I loved this: I was immediately attracted to this layout by the subject, the colors, and the texture. I have many pictures of people walking away from me. For some reason I love the mood that that type of picture creates. Since we often go for walks with the kids, I was able to tell the story of one such walk with a layout similar to "A Nice Walk". Love that!

I wanted to lift something from JustJen. Why? Because I love the pages she creates, often with large photos, and the way she places the elements is just great. And I have a problem with elements, everytime I want to place (lots of) elements, I start wondering ... "what is it doing there?" "Where should I place it?" "What's the relation with the photo????" and hups, of they go. But in Jen's layouts they all seem to be there so naturally.
So first I picked this one, because it's so beautifully blue:
http://www.mscraps.com/galleri/data/564/thumbs/blue.jpg (http://www.mscraps.com/galleri/showphoto.php?photo=37114&title=blue&cat=564)
but ouch, this was complicated (I didn't have the original kit either). After a few hours even my photoshop gave up (as did I), and my respect for Jen even became bigger :rainbowf:
So, yesterday I took a 2nd chance, and I picked this one:
http://www.mscraps.com/galleri/data/28/thumbs/you-are-beautiful.jpg (http://www.mscraps.com/galleri/showphoto.php?photo=31743&title=you-are-beautiful&cat=28)
Another beauty, which looked simpler than the first one, and, I had the kit that was used. But even though it looks so simple, it is not :wink2:
So this is my copy, I managed it, although I coudn't get that soft down-toned look. But as with a good song: the original is always better than the cover!
Chapeau Jen, your work is really great! fb2

I decided to practice some clustering because it seems to suit the small poor quality pictures I have of my oldest daughter as a baby. So I went after a layout in Tronesia's gallery to lift because she is wonderful with clustering. I chose this one because I loved the paper layers, and because I had a single head shot to scrap which would work well with this layout:
http://www.mscraps.com/galleri/data/551/Tron-LdsPpr2-Hppyhearts.jpg (http://www.mscraps.com/galleri/showphoto.php?photo=11006&title=little-buggie&cat=551)
