Joyce, concerning the monthly challenges, can you please clarify what "75% MScraps products" means? Is it 75% of the product list? Or do MScraps products need to cover 75% of the LO? Just not quite sure what I'm supposed to be looking for regarding the percentage. I know, I know ... such a newbie question ... :noobie-1: :D

:giggle:
We've all been there, Tracy!! LOL
Basically if you use 4 items to create your layout, 3 of these items need to be MScraps products.
Soooo - 75% of the items used must be MScraps Products.

Great! Thanks, Joyce! The statistics geek in me just had to know! :wink3:

Joyce, another question or two about the monthly challenges .... I know the weekly challenges are a random draw, but what about the monthly ones? Are they a random draw, or does the CT decide? Also, may you enter more than one LO/photo per challenge? (I understand you don't get double points if you do so.) Thanks!
Joyce

From now on {September} no winners will be picked at the end of the month because we work with a points system now. :glis:
You will earn a point for each completed challenge (sometimes more, if we decide to give out more) and once you have collected 20 points, you can choose to redeem your points and receive a Gift Certificate to the store.
Sooo, no winners will be picked anymore.
Basically everyone wins with this new system. (20 points = 1 {one} $10 Gift Certificate)
You can submit more layouts, but I don't really see the point. lol

I see your point ... so to speak. :winking0071:
Just looking at it from inspiration point of view ... :giggle:

I like the new point system, cause everyone that participates, gets 1 point for each challenge they create a LO for. (sorry girls, multiple LOs for one challenge will not get you extra points). :giggle:

I'm just wondering if we can use freebies from MScraps designers (from their blog, newsletter, the MScraps newsletter, iNSD freebies etc.) ?

Quick question .... do you want us to keep a running total each month that includes the previous month as well??? :) Meaning October's post would have my September links in it as well .. ???
Joyce
30-09-2010, 10:17 PM
No, you do not have to add your september links to your october post, but we do ask you to give us a link to your september post! :)
Examples can be found here: http://www.mscraps.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3275
:flower2:
I saw that girls don't include their September points in the TOTAL POINTS on the very bottom line, thinking probably that it's for October only, the example shows that it should!
Wouldn't it help to add a line saying something like "points for current month" next to "points for previous month" and say clearly that the Total is for all the months?

:impatient: LOL
It's ok to use freebies as long as you've downloaded them from our store (http://www.mscraps.com/forum/../shop/home.php?cat=25) and they're still available at the time you post your layout(s).

Just wondering if' there's no new weekly challenge for 17th to 24th?
forgotten or by reason?
Joyce
19-10-2010, 09:05 AM
We have decided that we will be hosting more monthly challenges instead of the weekly challenge.
Each week we have got the featured scrapper feature where you can {scrap}lift the featured scrapper, so we thought that it would be best to get rid of the weekly challenge.
As of next month, we will have 10 monthly challenges instead of 5!
As requested by many of you! :glis:

Thanks for your answer, Joyce!
Now everthing is clear for me - only asked, because i 've found no explanation for the missing weekly Challenge.
I love having more monthly challenges! thanks for this!

Yes, sorry about that, I was going to (officially) announce it a bit later on, but of course it was a bit silly not telling you we got rid of the weekly challenge (whoops).
But if you want to win a guest CT spot on our team (and still play each week), you can lift one (or more) layouts by our featured scrappers this month! :winking0071:
I understand your decision. Have also noticed that reduce candidates for the week challenge. Too bad because I always found this fun to do.
Joyce
19-10-2010, 06:42 PM
Yeah, that's because some people need a little more time to complete a layout :glis:
So it's best to have more monthly challenges than weekly ones! :winking0071:

Mmmmm I wonder who you could be talking about!!! :giggle:
I understand it must be a product in the Mscraps shoppe - so no retired products nor any ex-designers. I guess that means guest designers are OK!!!
better check with Joyce though! I'll get a beating probably!! :biggrin8:
Joyce
28-10-2010, 03:13 PM
Yes, are allowed to use guest designer stuff during the month(s) that they are a guest here.
So you can use Kim's stuff (hehe) for next month's challenges (nov.).

I hope this is the right place to ask this, and if not, please direct me as to where I can find my answer. I uploaded two photos for challenges, but they didn't go in the challenge galleries. I now know how to do that, but I'm wondering if perhaps it's possible to move a picture already uploaded. Funny thing is I see one of my picture somewhere, and the other somewhere else in what both appear to be "my albums". I feel like such a newbie on forums, I can never get my head around them (well, until later!)... So I guess my question is: How to I move my pictures into the Challenge galleries, or do I upload them again, and why is one of my picture in "My Album" and the other one shows in "My Profile"... is there an easy answer?
Thanks for anyone attempting to help me! :worship: (edited to say: I think I figured it out!!! Stay tuned!)

Yay! I think I figured it out. You upload to a gallery (like the challenge gallery) and it automatically links it to your name, right? So you don't need (when uploading challenge stuff) to put it anywhere else than the challenge gallery? RIGHT? Is that right??? I hope I figured it out! :)

28-12-2010, 04:17 AM
*lol* France--you GOT it! That's right--you only need to upload it to a specific challenge (or designer), and it will appear in your own gallery as well. Pretty nifty, eh? Thanks so much for playing!

Yay
:woohoo::wav::woohoo:
it only took me about three weeks!!!
I couldn't figure out why one of my uploads would show up in one place, and the other in the other place (one said "my album" in my profile... and the other one, I'm not even sure!)
Thanks for clarifying!

This question may have been posted elsewhere and I'll freely admit that I'm a brunette 'blond' - but, if you participated in any challenge, you get a point, right? So.... on that Monthly points forum, it asks for your previous total. Where would I find that? I went to my User CP. I never kept track of it before so forgive me if this is a really 'freshman' sort of question. :)

Linda....The previous total is from the month before...if this is the first month you have played the challenges and used the point system, you would not have a previous month's total. It is up to each individual member to keep track of their points...this is the reason for the tracking thread. You provide a link to each challenge layout you complete, add a point, total those points at the end of the month, then the following month you start a new post in the new tracking thread and bring forward those total points from the month before.
UUUUHHHMMMM...should be clear as mud now, HUH???:giggle:
If that does not clear it up for you, I can explain in more detail.
JUST REMEMBER....IF YOU DO NOT KEEP TRACK YOURSELF, YOU LOSE THE POINTS. YOU MUST ADD YOUR LINKS TO YOUR TRACKING THREAD POST AND ADD YOUR POINTS BY MIDNIGHT GMT THE LAST DAY OF THE MONTH OR YOU LOSE THOSE POINTS.

thanks Nana...
I did participate but I didn't keep track so I'm starting from scratch, right? I think I got it.
I'm at a whopping 1 now - but I posted in the Jan thread, so I'll have a tally moving forward. :)
thanks!

Linda (aka Nana) is correct. Since you didn't keep track before now, you have to start from scratch this month. Just be sure to keep track and update your post before 11:59pm on the last day of each month. This way you won't lose anymore points. :flower2:

I was wondering if I can submit the same page for the challenges and oscars?
Joyce

The question had also been asked in the Oscars section, so I am just going to copy and paste :glis:.
http://mscraps.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5334
Can we enter a LO in the scrap games AND that same LO in the Oscars?
No, for the Oscars it must be NEW or REVAMPED....specifically for the Oscars.

Hi Leilani (or Joyce). I went to the Feb Challenge points thread before midnight (2.28) and it was already closed so I couldn't 'finalize' my points. (All I had left to do was to total up, but being the math whiz that I am, I can add ONE to my January count all by myself. lol lol )
Not that is a huge deal as I had a total of ONE challenge point. lol But in case it was a glitch, I wanted to let someone know.
:)

The Monthly Challenges and Challenge Points threads all get closed at Midnight GMT, on the first of the month. At the same time all the new ones open. Which means for me, in CA., 4pm on the last day of the month; and for you, in NJ., 7pm on the last day of the month...(at least until we have our time change). If you are still unsure of how the time zone thing works see this thread {LINK (http://mscraps.com/forum/showthread.php?p=115163#post115163)}

Thanks for your reply, WOMBAT146. I was looking for something like 'Your total points' at checkout. Or is it that they do show up there only after I have come up with the total necessary to actually redeem them? Thanks again.

Uhm,.......no, it doesn't work like that.
Please read this thread about how our challenge points system works ;)

When you have collected 20 points, you can choose to redeem your points.
You will then get a $10 gift certificate from me to spend at the store!
