It is now February 16th and my kids have not been to school since Feb 4th because of all this darned snowed!!!!!

I am sooooooo ready for some ALONE/ME time! I want to lay on the couch and do absolutely nothing.

So have any of the rest of you been able to get back to life as normal? I am hoping that they will go back within the next few days.

We've had a lot of snow (and I'm sick of it!!), but we were still able to get on with our normal lives.

I can't imagine that, where I live in Belgium, in the middle of Belgium somewhere, there was snow but now so much that we couldn't go out of our house.

Wow, I agree that is a long time. When I lived in Maryland with my dad for one school year, the policy there was...if the school was closed for more than one week due to snow, those days were tacked on to the end of the year. Is it the same where you are?

That's horrible! I can't believe it's that bad :( Meanwhile over here we're battling El Nino. Bizarre! I hope you get your Me Time soon--I treasure those moments!

School was out here on Friday (for snow) and then yesterday (for Presidents Day) . . . and I was SO ready for them to go back today. I can't imagine how you must feel! HUGS!

What is so dumb is that we have been fine and able to get out since probably Thursday or Friday of last week.
The main roads, the road through our subdivision, and our street are perfectly fine and safe to drive on. (our driveway is a whole other story, LOL). But I have heard that many of the other secondary roads are still in horrible shape, especially due to wind drifting the snow back across the roads even after they have been cleared and that the busses cannot possibly make all of their routes throughout the county.
I so wish that spring would come. I have had enough of this little vacation!

Leilani...they can only add on so many days now. About 5 days, I think. They're talking about taking away some of their spring vacation time...things like that to try and make up for the lost days. They're off tomorrow...2hr. delay for Thur. & Fri. and we're supposed to be getting another 12-24 inches. I.am.dying. I feel your pain, Nicole!! Is it ever going to end???

We bought a old 4 wheel drive to get around and get in our driveway. Our neighbors asked when we came to put our car on the front street (with attitude) because they have never seen our cars lol. Our grandkids have been in school 2 days since this all started. My poor daughter has 5 kids at home.

They said on the news last night we needed 3.5 inches to have the record of snow in Pittsburgh's history and it is only the the 17th.
Spring come NOW!!!!!!!!!

Thankfully, ours hasn't been that bad but I've been watching the news coverage of everyone else's and OMG! LOL It's CRAZY this year.... I can't wait for spring either. I'm so tired of the coughs and sniffles that keep going around.

I feel for ya though... my kids would have tore the house down after that many days! LOL

Are they going to tack those days on at the end of the year or do they just lose snow days?

There is some good news Im sure!!! Think of the end of the school year when it is nice and warm they are going to have to make up those missed days. THAT is when you will make up for these days!:happy046:

Governor Rendall of PA is deciding now what the kids will have to do about the make up days . My 2 oldest grand children go to a charter school and go to almost the end of June as it is LOL I can't imagine them having to go into July and then returning in Aug
