NOTE 1:
I used google translate to translate the recipe from dutch to english (because I was too lazy to do it myself), sorry if some things don't make any sense! lol

NOTE 2:
I have used Dutch Measurements!

WORTELSTAMPOT (CARROT MASH!)
Serves 2

Ingredients:

4 large carrots
3 large potatoes
1 large onion
2 tablespoons sugar
bacon fat or butter
1 cup of milk
nutmeg and pepper

Preparation:
Boil the diced potatoes with diced carrots along with the onion for 25 minutes. Get rid of the water (drain??) and mash everything up.
Finish with the sugar, bacon fat and milk.
Add nutmeg, pepper and (not required) salt.

We call that "stoemp" or in my hometown dialect "poo-te-pe-ta-gee" (this is phonectical English)

Where I'm from in Brabant we just call it 'wortelstamp' :giggle: Love this though!!
It's hard to find 'winterpenen' here though in the USA so I'm sure it may be hard elsewhere too; you can also buy a bag with the smaller carrots and boil those instead.
You got to improvise when needed! :wink3: :biggrin8:

isn't this close to hootspa (LOL) but we add the ground beef or bacon to it

ok, so I try this .....pot and it is seriously awesome, the nutmeg give it a gentle punch!!!!!!!!!

Wortelstomp whooohoooooooooooooooooooooooo i love it

I always eat so much I almost burst out of my pants.
When i finished, i need to lie down and open my pants :rofl2:

I always use 1,5kg carrots/1,5kg potatoes/ 2 onions / lots of bacon and the fat from the bacon. I never use sugar but salt. For 4 persons and mostly we have leftover for the next day :giggle:
