It is no secret that I need to loose some weight. I have been on a low carb diet for 3 weeks and I have lost 5 kilos (11 lbs? do you use lbs?) and it makes my feel so goooooooood :lykkelig:

Do any of you have some experience with low carb diets?

I´ve never tried it. But I want to start with Weight Watchers at march 1st. LOL I tried it before I get pregnant with my oldest son and I also lost 5 kg in a really short time. So I´ll try it again. It´s time for me to loose a lot of weight

Wow, that's an amazing achievement, Kat! Congratulations! I'd like to lose an extra 10 pounds, but don't really like dieting. I prefer to exercise. I really should break out those dance DVDs I have gathering dust, lol :biggrin8:

Wow Kat! 5 kilos? That's a big reason to celebrate:confetti:

I'm trying to lose weight as well. Stress packs in the pounds for me. But it's hard to go on a low-carb diet when you live in a rice-eating-3x-a-day country. I envy you your discipline! It takes a lot to stick to a diet!

YAY!! That's awesome Kat!!! Woo hoooo!!!!
Low Carb is the only way to go for me.. I get way too hungry if I do low fat. I did my first low carb through a ladies gym here in town a year after my second baby and lost 16 lbs in 6 weeks!
I don't go as hard core anymore, but if I ever need to drop a few lbs, I consciously stay away from the white carbs and try to eat as much protein as I do carbs. I'm a huge pasta lover.. so it's tough sometimes.
Good luck!! Keep at it!!

I love eating protein and I do love my bacon, my cravings is gone and my fibromyalgia is not to bad with this diet.. so I will stick to this..

mrshobbes I love dancing and my favorite now is ZUMBA I just LOVE it!
doodelle i totaly understand, I love rice my self so I'm gong to miss it!
jakajer this feels not like a diet and in fact I find my self thinking that this will make me fat, but the scale tells me otherwise..

I started dieting in 2007 (The Dutch: Sonja Bakker "Diet") and I lost 17kg in 6 months!! (37.5 lbs)
But I gained 10kg again since June (2009) last year when I lost my job and sat home for most of the day for 7 months.
I am trying to lose the weight again now and have lost 2kg up until now.
Still 8kg's to go until I'm satisfield!

Congrats on the weight loss, Kat!

Congratulations Kat!!!

I've lost almost 70 lbs since last May. I haven't been doing the low carb thing... but I go to Weight Watchers. I love how it's not limiting to "diet" foods that I have to learn to incorporate healthy options into my normal routine. I still slip up and have weeks where I'll have a plus instead of a minus but I just keep plucking along.

It's been fun with the group too... we all sorta chat and laugh with each other at every meeting...I think that's helped me.

I was right on the verge of turning into one of those Discovery channel shows. LOL

I need to loose weight. About 5 kilo's. But I just can't get myself to doing it. And I sometimes dislike me because of it... Women, aren't we stupid sometimes ;)

Kat, wow. Amazing results! I think I couldn't do it. I would miss potatoes, rice and pasta too much!

Congrats!! That is awesome!! :lykkelig:

I did the Atkins thing back in 2004. I lost a whole bunch of weight but when I went off the diet I gained it all back + some. It was just not a life style I could maintain. I did Weight Watchers and lost some it and then I had Nik and gained it back!! I am now on the Special K diet and losing weight again. Just call me yo yo!!

Well I lost 70 lbs last year. I basically eat what I want but in really small portions several times a day. I live a low carb lifestyle and stay away from starchy carbs all together (I'm not really a bread, rice or pasta person anyways) I also love to work out and go to the gym everyday.

What really did it for me was when I decided to become a certified personal trainer. When I have to show accountability for my own actions and lead by example, it keeps me on track. And I love helping others achieve their goals.

Maybe we should start a private weight loss thread and work together to loose weight. I'm still not at my goal yet. I'd love some weight loss buddies to chat with!!
