Having problems uploading layout

This is my first try at uploading a photo to the gallery. I have read through the FAQ and many other threads. Can someone direct me to instructions or talk me through this please. I just completed a layout for the November Template Challenge. I was really excited, but now it's been replaced with confusion and frustration. I'm sure it's not as difficult as I am making it.

Make sure you save your picture for the web: it should be 600x600 pixels, and no larger than 150Kb.

If you're using a version of PS, resize your layout to 72 dpi, then 600x600 pixels.
Choose "save for web", make sure it's .jpg format, and move the quality slider until the size (under the preview of the picture) is below 150Kb

Save it somewhere on your hard drive where you'll find it.

Go to our gallery, and click Upload.

Browse to where your picture is on your computer, click ok.

Choose your challenge category

Give it a title

List the credits

Click upload (you'll get an intermediary screen, just click process)

You're good. I think that's all in order, and I hope it's helpful! :flower2:

What browser are you using, by the way? Firefox is the most successful with this site.

Yay!! It's in the gallery under most recent. How do I get it into the Challenge gallery? Does this get easier?

You pick the proper challenge gallery at the time of upload (it's that first dropdown button, before you even choose your own layout. It's defaulted to "Digital Layouts", but you can just choose the gallery there. I'll go edit your layout to be in the right gallery!). It will automatically show up in your personal gallery as well; and the recent gallery is just all the recent layouts, no matter where they are...

Thanks Heather. There's two more uploads floating around somewhere. I have no idea what I did or where they went. I thought this was an easy way to get my feet wet. Thanks for your help and Romy & Wombat, too!

oh before you know it you will be up to your knees and will be uploading layouts right left and centre!!!

When you click on the Upload Photo link, on the very first page, way down the bottom, is there something that says you have 1 (or 2) items in a queue?? if so then these maybe the ones you think you have lost............. if not then just try uploading your other pages again.

you can always change the category even after the upload - by double-clicking on Photo Options on the gallery page.......Edit Photo...Change Category

I've always been a slow starter, but eager to learn.
The other two were the same photo. The prompt said uploaded successfully. Could have fooled me and probably did.
I love the designers here and really anxious to use the gorgeous products.
I'll probably be back with lots more questions along the way.

if you click on the MY GALLERY link you see at the top right of a message you posted yourself, you will see all YOUR OWN pages... when you get there, BOOKMARK it in your browser, it's very useful to have your most used pages bookmarked :)

there seems to be a page in your gallery! Success! The others would be there if they had uploaded properly, just try again. Let us know if you end up uploading too many, we mods can fix that for you.
