Just had to share these pics with you of when my hubby and I were in Perth last year...
Look at my face (the flies were everywhere!)...I wasn't happy...we were at such a gorgeous place (river gorges), yet we couldn't enjoy it because of the annoying flies!
Well they do say "Australia is THE only place to be - 400 billion billion flies can't be wrong!!!" But yes - it is horrible! Not so bad in the suburbs but the outback is pretty bad! I think if you asked anyone if they enjoyed their trip to Australia they would mention the flies!!! BUT there is this new stuff in a green bottle that a friend got and I sprayed some on me (just a couple of squirts) and NO FLIES!!!!!!!!!!!! So Australia is working on it!!!

Leilani I am so sorry hun - I wish I could just pop over and just chat to you through one of the nights just to take some of the pain away!
Aww, thanks sweetie!
A: Steak please...only because I don't eat it all that often, so i seem to crave it more.
Q: Which would you prefer, phone call, text message, email, or pen and paper...when someone wants to profess their undying love for you.
Pen and Paper!! When Mike was in the Navy he wrote me some wonderful letters!! :greenstars:
Favorite Sweet?

20-04-2010, 09:44 PM
Mmm, my current obsession are the mini-peanut butter chocolate cups from Trader Joe's... Too bad that store is 2 hours away from me! Or maybe not so bad...
Do you like talking on the phone?

sunnie2004
21-04-2010, 12:10 PM
Getting old and dried up apple faced and being so thin I look emacipated or so fat noone will recognize me. The old part like 900 years old scares the day lightsout of me.
Do you still iron with a actual iron or a press (your clothes)?
Sokee
21-04-2010, 12:21 PM
hey Caren I iron, which I really should buy a new one.........
favorite way to swim skinny dip or suit?
sunnie2004
21-04-2010, 01:31 PM
I love ironing when I am sewing! LOL I have both a press and iron! Barbara
Great question otoo!!
Skinny dipping is so fun when it is private LOL
little back ground coz lol I don't want people thinking I am a nudist or something LOL We had a pool for long long time....after working in a truck in the summer evenings no A/C my body temp would be so hit it was hard to control! nothing like coming come at 12AM /1Am and it being all quiet in the neighborhood and jumping in the pool with a ice cold drink and relaxing!! Ahhhhhhhh I miss them days!!
Airconditioning or fan in the hot hot days?
Sokee
21-04-2010, 05:49 PM
I'd take a fan any hot day except for HUMID weather. I love the sounds of the outdoors, so I love the windows to be open.
{I only skinny dip in private too........... hate to make anyone vomit :25r30wi: ... with six children my stomach looks like a bowl of soft dough}
Sunset or Sunrise?
( ladies, I have a sign in my backyard: Swimsuits optional! LOL)
Sunrise!! but I don't get to see any sunrise anymore !! I'm lazy butt!!! :-(((
I remember watching sunrise from a volcano in Hawaii ( waiting for 2 hours, freezing cold ) and also some mornings were beautiful during early commute but nothing beats sunrise in San Francisco around Golden Gate Bridge. No fog!!!!
Are you a procrastinator?

21-04-2010, 06:14 PM

Question:
Favorite time of the day?
for Heather ( LOVE your question, had to make a list!!! LOL)
let's see:
* squirrels - did you know they make nests on trees? my dh accidentally knock down one and there were 3 babies, squeaking, wildlife rescue person came for them, they have some special nursing formula for them!!! They bark and it sounds like they are laughing at me!!!
* lizzards - when excited, their skin turns royal blue, can be seen only on a photo!
* rattlesnakes ( abundant)
* wild turkeys - right now it's mating season or what and they roam our neighborhood tails fanned out and they dig in my flower beds, ruining plants and my dripping system!!
* mountain lions - can't go running when it's dark ( we live next to a lake, they come to drink and hunt)
* bobcats - they have no tails!
* coyotes - sometimes can hear them in packs, probably hunting for deer
* yes, deer - have to drive slowly, they have trails everywhere
* turkey vultures - everywhere
* red tailed and red-shouldered hawks nesting nearby - their screaming is so intense
* tons of crazy hummingbirds, one constant, two migrating species
* frogs!!
* bears can come down from mountains, last one was here a year ago
* crazy woodpeckers!! so noisy!! they make hole in bark and stuff acorns there!
* after sunset, bats come and drink water from our pool, it's a salt water system!!!!
* other wild animals would be two-legged ones with jumbo-wheeled jeeps ruining the trails in the woods :-((
for Cheryl: I am a morning person
Q: do you like junk food?
Sokee
21-04-2010, 11:36 PM
do I like junk food............ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FLQgjEhH400 except for mine don't look like that!
Dryer or clothsline?
mum2gnt
22-04-2010, 07:31 AM
Ok STOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rewind! The pool thing...............if I even got into our pool, all the water would either just overflow but if I was nude it would just jump out!! LOL! Thomas always goes in nude! And George gets so embarrassed!
Sunrise or sunset - what is sunrise??? Sorry Romy..............Disagree with the SFO sunrise! Although spectacular!! My fave was either over taj Mahal in India as changes colours with each rise of the sine or Ayers Rock, Australia as that too changes colours only it glows!!! Best sunset has to be at Cable Beach Club in Broome (Western Australia - 5 hour flight from Perth - yes WA is rather large and Brrome and Perth aren't even the furthest points!) where on a full moon as the sun goes down there is an optical illusion of stairway to heaven (that's what it's called).
Wild animals...................about 5 of the 10 deadliest snakes in the world (in 8 years here i have only ever seen dead ones which is so sad!), quite a few spiders - probably most dangerous in the world too! Red Back is the evil cousin of the Black Widow for example! Again probably have 100 living in the back garden totally not bothering us! Kangaroos - of course!!! And wallabys (mini kangaroos) and kookaburras and pelicans and spoonbills and bee eaters and honey eaters and people eaters - no joking about that one!!! Possums, frogs - had 37 on our small back lawn last night after the sprinkers had finished! Motorbike frogs - they sound like a motorbike pulling away from traffic lights!!! Amazing sounds when you have 100 or so in chorus! No koalas or wombats over in Western Australia which is a shame! Lizzards of course. Oh and flies!!! LOL! And sharks! The crocs thankfully are all up north! That's where all 10 deadliest snakes live! whales and dolphins - oh I could go on and on!
So, starts again........clothesline! Never ever use dryer! But in the hot burning summer sun on a 35-40C day we have to turn all our clothes inside out or they fade! Litterally in one hour! Shocking!
Some good questions! Seeing as it's lunchtime here - favourite sandwich filling?
sunnie2004
22-04-2010, 12:20 PM
Favorite lunch sandwich filling .........Ummmm 1.turkey, 2. peanutbutter and butter not margerine , 3.chicken salad, 4.tomatoes with salt and paper and mayo, wonder why I am "more than chunchky?" LOL

OOOOO good question Terese!!! No need to ask me though as clearly it would be Angelina Jolie as we look so similar in the face and body size - I am always getting mistaken for her!!!! (at this point I should maybe tell you that I am joking!!!) :25r30wi:
Well people have often said that I have something about me that reminds them of Cate Blanchett so I am guessing her - or maybe Emma Thompson as we have the same English accent!!! But sadly they would both have to put on many many mnay mnay mnay kilos!!! And stop using Botox and stop the gym workouts, etc!!
Good question hun!
Well, seeing as we are the movie theme............I always wanted to be an actress, what have you always wanted to be?

Also, it's iNSD which means I am getting some stuff released and will hopefully have time for some shopping :glis::biggrin8:

Do you drive? or use bus/ mass transit for you "major" mode of transportation?
Hey Caren, long time!!!!
When I lived in Prague ( and when visiting family) I used public transportation - buses, trams, subway everywhere and safe!!
here in US - bound to driving only, everything's too far!! but I love my car and enjoy drivin' it!!
a tricky question, hehe: would you like to come and visit me here in California? :-))
( hot Sacramento valley, summer temp: 40ºC = 100ºF, boating, hiking, sun-tanning by our pool, my hubby's awesome Cosmopolitans, horse-back riding eventually...)
heathert
28-04-2010, 03:01 AM
I'll come visit in the winter, Romy--can't handle the heat! You can come up and visit me anytime you need a breath of fresh air... =)
Which do you prefer--scraplift, or speed scrap?
sunnie2004
28-04-2010, 01:39 PM
Hi Romy!!
Scrap lift for me Heather it takes me hours to do a template lol :giggle: Speed scrap it looks crappy and I just can't do it .
Question? race car or fancy woo woo ( I forget how to spell luxerury <phonice spelling LOL) car for every day driving?
Sokee
28-04-2010, 02:23 PM
You make your own templetes Caren??? :worship:
Good question.......... I guess I would have to say fancy woo woo :winking0071:
out of those two, BUT have to say I have a Chrysler mini van with the fold down seats and you would have to pull me kicking and screaming outta that form of transportation!!! I just LOVE it!
Are you planning on going to many differents sites for this weekend or stick to one store?
I'm definately going to a few different sites. I think I hop between 3.. Maybe "just" 2 sites :biggrin8:

I LOVED question games at Mscraps, they kept me from doing anything else!! :giggle:
It's time to bring them back!!
So, my question is:
Do you dread upcoming Thanksgiving/Christmas ( putting pound/kilos on, making the meal, travel, presents...)
or are you excited ? (family together, fun...)
heathert
19-11-2010, 11:29 PM
Erm, I'm actually not excited, but we've changed our "rituals" around so that I'm not dreading, either. =) So it's all good. I do enjoy watching Allen get all excited, but I don't like the "i want, i want" peeking out in him.
Do you eat ham or turkey, or something else for Thanksgiving?
mum2gnt
20-11-2010, 12:32 AM
I'll pass on that one....................................but we do eat turkey for Christmas in England. Here it's giant huge succulent garlic prawns on the barbie!!!
But that's not the answer - someone else can answer who has thanksgiving!
Tronesia
20-11-2010, 01:09 AM
We have ham and turkey for Thanksgiving..and yes, I eat some of both...lol :D
Are you hesitant about spending holidays with certain family members?!?
tracylittle
20-11-2010, 01:20 AM
Do you dread upcoming Thanksgiving/Christmas ( putting pound/kilos on, making the meal, travel, presents...)
or are you excited ? (family together, fun...)
We don't celebrate Thanksgiving in NZ so that part of the question isn't relevant.
But Christmas, I love love love Christmas. This year my brother is coming home with his wife and 2 children whom we haven't seen in over 18 months. Christmas Day is just going to be them and us, as Walters (my hubby) brother has packed a poo with him, and we haven't been invited to join the rest of the family at his place LOL!
Regarding putting on the pounds, I am past caring. All my life (unless pregnant) I have weighed 53kgs, I gave up smoking in January 2010 and have put on 15.9kgs. I feel good although I don't have many clothes that fit. On Christmas Day I can say proudly I have been a non smoker for 350 days :)
Helen
20-11-2010, 01:37 AM
Are you hesitant about spending holidays with certain family members?!?
No not really more about how the days (25th and 26th) will go as I'm hosting in my home for the very first time!!!
Are you looking foward to the wonderful white days or would your rather have these brown fall days instead?
Joyce
22-11-2010, 09:22 AM
That's a difficult question...I like the brown fall days when it's not raining.
I like the wonderful white days as well, but only if it means I can stay at home, because I hate driving in the snow!! LOL
But if I really had to choose, I would say: wonderful white days! :glis:
Have you done your christmas shopping yet?
heathert
22-11-2010, 09:42 AM
Nope! I don't really have any money of my own, so I have to "steal" it from the grocery money, or make stuff *giggles* Although I did do one photobook for my mother. Except she and my MIL always need 2 presents around Christmastime because my MIL's bday is Dec 26, and my Mom's is Jan 4!
Do you dress up for your holidays?
sabrinavc
22-11-2010, 09:58 AM
Do you dress up for your holidays?
nope, I don't going to buy something new, I don't fit in a lot of clothes anymore... Have to wear some maternity clothes, my belly is growing and growing :rofl2:
are you going on holidays for those special days?
Joyce
22-11-2010, 10:15 AM
No, we're staying home this year. Every other year we go to the UK and visit my inlaws for Christmas or New Year.
This year, my hubby will go "under the knife" (operation) on the 22nd, so we're staying home.
What's on your wish list?? :winking0071:
Carly
22-11-2010, 10:21 AM
I want some Lisa Leonard necklaces
my birthday is 6 days before xmas lol
i also want a wacom, i heard you an doodle and write with yor own writing on there

does your family get along on holidays?? or is there always one in the bunch that has to be heard? LOL

(although my MIL is talking constantly so I just turn off my hearing sense and barely know what she is saying!! :-)) )
Q: for Christmas dinner: poultry ( turkey...) or something else?
gateausoso
22-11-2010, 05:40 PM
Do you dread upcoming Thanksgiving/Christmas ( putting pound/kilos on, making the meal, travel, presents...)
or are you excited ? (family together, fun...)
We usually don't celebrate thanksgiving but I am SO excited by Christmas! It is a nice period to spend with my hubby and children. We really have a great time all together although all the rest of our family is in France, 6000km away. I also love the excitment it brings in my children's eyes. Yes, making the meal and buying presents is a little bit of stress but the results are always rewarding: sharing a good meal with friends and enjoying seing everybody opening their presents.

What a fun game. I love reading all the questions and answers.
As I sit here, all fatted up from our Thanksgiving feast, I should say mountains, but I love the beach. I grew up a block from it, and can even open my eyes under the salt water. I'm part fish.

Right now our family is running rather smoothly. The real problem members live across the continent, so, luckily, we only have to call them now and then! Besides, I think I may be the one family member everybody wants to strangle now and then.
QUESTION: What's the best…and/or the worst Holiday gift you've ever gotten? Mine was a vacuum cleaner!
The Best, of course. Who wouldn't want to open a great big beautifully wrapped gift and find a cleaning tool! It was heaven, not to be compared with the emerald ring, which was such a disappointment!!!

Whisper Pink
26-11-2010, 11:58 PM
Play with the toys of course!!! Still my favorite thing to do, especially if I get a new camera accessory, go figure!!!
What is the one food you have to have for the holidays? Mine would be our traditional fresh fruit salad in whip cream...it is a must at both Holidays!!!

One food to have for the holidays??
Every Christmas I HAVE to make my warm potato salad! my kids absolutely love it and it has become a bit of a tradition I guess! lol!! I didn't do one,one year and they haven't let me forget yet!!! :biggrin8:
(for my nana friend LInda!!! oh yeah, I have the sun lounges set up on the verandah already, drinks on ice!! when are you getting here???? so we can do our nana-stuff!!! :25r30wi::25r30wi:)
Question: Are you having your Christmas feast indoors or out! (We are having ours outdoor this year, a barbeque down at a lovely park down by the river, under some gorgeous HUGE shady fig trees! the kids can run riot and the adults can relax and there will be MINIMAL cleaning up to do afterwards!!! :flower2:)
heathert
27-11-2010, 08:49 AM
Yeah, minimal cleaning is GOOD! We will be having ours indoors, as it will be raining. Most likely. =) Either that, or hailing. *lol*
What is your favorite letter of the alphabet, and why? (mine is "m" because it's in the middle and it has fun curves...)
JeanH
27-11-2010, 06:55 PM
I love the letter L…I think it looks cool in calligraphy. I must say that S runs second. I just seem to be doodling S with swoops and swirls every time I'm on the phone.
And to Ona's question: inside or out—we lived in Hawaii and there it was outdoors, but here, of course, it will be inside, with the good dishes, tablecloth, candles and all the frippery! Since I don't do clean-up, I don't mind it that much. it's just one day of the year and we all get cleaned up (not fancy, just clean with sweaters, probably, for the photos) and gather around the table. Sometimes, it actually snows, which is okay on Christmas Day (and only on Christmas Day).
What hobby do you have besides digi-scrapping? I like to sew, garden and cook—how ordinary can you get?

Question: When do you take down all the Christmas decorations....the day after or wait until New Years??
JeanH
27-11-2010, 09:56 PM
I hate taking down the decorations! My house looks so good with them all over (I even do bathrooms) and so old and shabby after they come down! So it's usually after the first of the year before I can bring myself to put them all away.
QUESTION: Where do you usually have Christmas dinner…at your house or somewhere else? And who cooks?
Jean, we need to see photos!!!
A: We like to have our traditional dinner so it's mostly in our house, my way.
Although, after spending Thanksgiving with our friends, where I had the most amazing roasted ham; if she invited us, I wouldn't say no because she'll make the ham for Christmas dinner too!!
